Welcome to the Arena website, our online hub for all things to do with the art of photography.
Arena stands for excellence in photography. Amongst our members are many well known names, working in many different genres, all united by a passion for the image. We teach, exhibit, lecture and write about photography, but most of all just love making pictures. Please take some time to explore the diverse range of work presented in the galleries. Although we have just had some exceptionally cold weather this Winter, Spring is not far away and with it the 2010 Seminar.
Arena members continue to be in the news, with Tony & Eva Worobiec's new exhibition opening at the Fox Talbot Museum. Landscape photographer par excellence Trevor Crone has proven that he is a portrait photographer par excellence by having his photo of Quentin Crisp added to the National Portrait Gallery's archive. Places for theArena Seminar are selling very quickly, so make sure that you secure your place at this superb event.
BOOKING UPDATE: The Seminar is now completely SOLD OUT and we can no longer take any bookings.
Once again, the seminar maintains it's reputation as the best photography seminar in the UK, with another superb line up of guest speakers. After the success of last year's event featuring Martin Parr and Tom Stoddart, we are delighted to be able to say that we have provisionally booked Magnum's David Hurn, & Ted Humble-Smith for Saturday and John Swannell & Nick Turpin for Sunday. Arena's own John Chamberlin and Leigh Preston will also presenting at the weekend.
The seminar will take place in Bournemouth 12th, 13th & 14th March 2010, and will inspire you for the whole of next year! Places are selling quickly, so for more information and a booking form, please visit our seminars page.
