The New Arena Book Is Published
Arena is proud to announce the publication of our new book Arena Portfolios. After a long period of gestation, design and proofing, our new book is now back from the printers, and looks wonderful. The book was born out of a bequest from Arena founder Joan Wakelin, who wanted us to a produce a book to showcase the diverse range of work that Arena members produce. As such, it contains work from all the Arena membership as it stood at the beginning of 2008, as well as posthumous entries for Joan Wakelin and Bob Elliott who sadly were not able to see the book come to fruition. Every member has been given a four page spread, one page of which is given over to a short biography or statement about the photographer.
Although the book is the work of all the Arena membership, the project would have not been possible without the especial effort of Ted Sturgeon, who did all the book design, layout and printing arrangements, and Eva Worobiec, who proofed and edited all the scripts. Their dedication & long hours given to the book has resulted in a superb volume reflecting the quality and breadth of work produced by Arena.
