2008 Arena Seminar - 16th-18th May 2008 - Bournemouth
Our annual seminar for 2007 was held in March, and proved to be every bit as successful as previous events. Thank you to all who took the time to give us your feedback, which made for very pleasant reading.
Plans are now afoot to prepare us for next year's seminar. This year we are changing venue for the seminar, which will be held at the Riviera Hotel in Bournemouth. We have managed to secure very good prices for the weekend and hope that improvement in accommodation will make the weekend more attractive than ever. With the added bonus of Bournemouth’s sea front and extensive shopping, we hope that many guests will wish to bring their partners along for the weekend
We are already talking to some very well known photographers who we hope will present at the next seminar, but it is too early to make any firm announcements. However, we are pleased to announce that the Arena presenters at the weekend will be Dave Mason, and in a joint presentation, Tony and Eva Worobiec.
One of Arena's newer members, Dave Mason's work is street photography for the 21st Century. Working digitally and in colour, his keenly seen and quickly taken pictures show that decisive moment photography is alive and kicking. Have a look at his galleries to get a flavour of his exciting work.
Tony and Eva Worobiec will be well known to Ufton regulars. Tony has authored several books on photographic techniques, and together they wrote the acclaimed 'Ghosts in the Wilderness' in 2003. They are currently working on a sequel to be published in 2008, and the talk will feature many images from the new book.
In addition, the seminar will feature the ever popular workshops, displays, Saturday evening show-and-tell, and of course, the print raffle. More information will be posted later, so keep checking back or subscribe to the Arena Newsletter. We hope to see you there!
